捜索願いを出す | file a missing person’s report　　　　　　　　　

A man in his 40s, who was reported missing last year, and later “found,” then confirmed dead by police and his family who had him cremated, has shocked his family by returning home alive and well.
According to police reports, the man in his 40s went missing from his home in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture, last year. His family filed a missing person’s report immediately after and police had been searching for his whereabouts. (Japan Today 2018/6/13)

昨年に行方不明となり、その後発見されて警察と家族により死亡が確認され、家族が火葬した40代の男性が生きていて無事に家に戻ってきて家族を驚かせた。

警察の調べによると、この40代の男性は昨年、千葉県松戸市の家からいなくなった。家族はすぐに警察に捜索願を出し、警察は行方を捜していた。
※火葬された40代の男性と見られていた遺体は別人だったことが後になって判明する。
