司法取引制度 | plea bargaining system

The introduction of a plea bargaining system in Japan has sparked worries in the criminal justice system that it will lead to false statements and wrongful convictions of innocent people.

The new bargaining system, which resembles what is known as plea bargaining in the West, allows criminal suspects to negotiate deals with prosecutors in exchange for information on another criminal.

日本では司法取引制度の導入は、(取り調べで容疑者が)虚偽の供述をしたり、無実の人に対する不当な有罪判決(冤罪)が生じてしまう刑事司法制度になるのではないかと危惧する声が高まっている。

西洋で行われている司法取引に類似している今回の新しい司法取引制度では、容疑者が共犯者に関する情報提供の見返りに検察側と司法取引することが出来る。
